Notable Adaptations: Mandrills possess powerful limbs that enable them to climb and run effectively. Additionally, their large canines serve both as a means of defense and for social interactions.

- Lifespan: Mandrills have been seen to live as long as 41 years in the wild however their average lifespan is anywhere from 20-30 years.
- Gestation Period: About 6 months.
- Weaning Age: Around 6 months.
- Stages of Development: Infant (0-1 year), Subadult (1-3 years), Adult (3+ years).
Conservation Status 1,2*:
- Regions/Countries Found: Mandrills are primarily found in Central and West Africa, especially in Gabon, Cameroon, and the Republic of the Congo.
- Total Population: Though Mandrills are not endangered, there are estimated to be no more than 10,000 left in the wild.
- Conservation Status: Vulnerable; The main concern for Mandrill populations is rampant habitat loss/ deforestation and illegal hunting by poachers.
